Kit Rating Explanation

1 Easiest-simple mechanical skill required.  This kit uses an adapter that is installed between the carburetor and air cleaner assembly.  Longer screws, gaskets, and other necessary parts are included.  Usually no drilling is required except to mount the regulator bracket to the frame of the generator.  A 12 page instruction booklet is included.

2 Moderate-Better than average mechanical skill required.  This kit requires drilling the existing carburetor. A standard drill bit is required to make the existing passage larger to accept the new fuel tube and another to enlarge the idle mixture screw for a better vacuum signal.  No drill press or precise drilling is required because the passages are already there, they just have to be enlarged.  Drilling is also required to mount the regulator bracket to the frame of the generator.  All mounting parts and a 12 page instruction booklet is included.

3 Challenging-Above average mechanical skill required.  This kit requires drilling the existing carburetor and tapping thread for the new fuel tube. A standard drill bit and tap is required to make the existing passage larger and make threads to accept the new fuel tube.  Another drill bit is needed to enlarge the idle mixture screw for a better vacuum signal.  No drill press or precise drilling is required because the passage is already there, it just has to be enlarged and the threads tapped.  Drilling is also required to mount the regulator bracket to the frame of the generator.  All mounting parts and a 12 page instruction booklet is included.
